The problem
When I ran an event, registration lived in Google Forms and the door check was a printed sheet. A queue formed at the entrance, and two names turned out to be missing from the list entirely.
The solution
Everyone who registers gets a QR code. At the door a phone camera scans it in a second, and the check-in lands in the list immediately.
